RECLAIM Network Plus Webinar Series #2

 

The second session of the RECLAIM Network Webinar Series took place on Wednesday 6th July 2022.

Webinars will share best-practice and facilitate knowledge exchange between practitioners, researchers, policymakers, businesses, environmental groups, charities and individuals interested in implementation of green-blue-grey infrastructure for making our vulnerable living spaces more healthy, sustainable and resilient.

Marc Barra
Urban Ecologist, Paris Region Institute, France

Title of the talk: De-paving in Paris region – literally making space for nature

Biography
Marc Barra is an urban ecologist from the Paris Region Institute. He leads projects in relation with nature-based solutions applied to urban planning and architecture. He is currently involved in H2020 project REGREEN and in the French Capital of Biodiversity award.


Professor Eiman Kanjo
Pervasive Sensing, Nottingham Trent University, UK

Title of the talk: Technology enabled Social Prescribing and Gamification Approaches to Link Communities to Local Green Spaces

Biography
Professor Kanjo’s Smart Sensing team at Nottingham Trent University has successfully developed and set up a social prescribing platform called TagWithMe.com at both Rufford Country Park and Highbury Hospital in collaboration with Nottingham County Council and Nottinghamshire Healthcare respectively. TagWithMe is a gamification platform that aims at improving well-being by visiting local parks and being physically active. The platform utilises wireless tagging features that send challenges, AI quizzes, and prompts directly to the user’s mobile device. Eiman also works closely with Nottingham City Council on developing its Smart Nottingham initiative including the current deployment of mobile environmental monitoring stations in Nottingham city centre.
