First call launched to support Knowledge Exchange Visits
This is an exciting time for the RECLAIM Network. We have initiated our Webinar Series, and are about to launch our first call for applications to support cross-sectorial knowledge exchange visits between network partners.
The objectives of the RECLAIM Network Plus knowledge exchange visits are to (1) create opportunities for professionals involved in Green-Blue-Grey Infrastructure (GBGI) from academia, government and industry so gain experience in a different sector, and (2) to contribute to and expand the knowledge-base of the RECLAIM Network.
We aim to fund a small number of secondments each year (2022, 2023 and 2024) allocated via a competitive process with an open call once per year, thus creating two cohorts. Placements are expected will to last approximately 2 months (pro-rata for part-time applicants) with grants of £3k, to cover non-salary costs.
The knowledge exchange visit call is open to all RECLAIM members who are residents in the UK (international applications cannot be supported under this scheme), but priority will be given to early-career participants (EC defined as no more than 8-years professional experience past first degree), and on secondments which span traditional boundaries of expertise, particularly which link across to business and city authorities/local government. The call is not restricted to academic participants but note that only non-salary expenses are eligible.
Upon completion, the knowledge exchange visitor agrees to write a blogpost to be published on the RECLAIM Network website, and to create a short video-piece summarising their experience and knowledge gained during the visit.
Projects must have a clearly defined objective and give scope for thought and initiative. Projects which use the exchange visitor as a general assistant where there is little or no ownership of the work by the visitor will not be accepted.
*We are re-opening this call for a limited time (until the 15th January 2025). To complete the application form click here. Any enquiries may be emailed to info@reclaim-network.org.
The application and evaluation procedure for the call is shown in Figure 1. Evaluations of proposals will be based on clearly defined objectives and general contributions toward the objectives of the RECLAIM network. The questions on the online form are listed at the end of this blog.
We are looking forward to receiving your application and welcome you to be part of the RECLAIM Network Plus family.
If not a member yet, please complete the new membership form to receive regular updates on network activities and opportunities.
Best wishes,
Dr Thomas Kjeldsen & the RECLAIM Network Plus Team
