Webinar #20 - Revitalising waterways & the LivGBGI project

This webinar included two speakers:

  • Shelly Dewhurst, Green Infrastructure Programme Manager at Bath & North East Somerset Council: WaterSpace, revitalising the waterways of Bath & North East Somerset

  • Dr Sisay Debele, Research Fellow at the Global Centre for Clean Air Research at the University of Surrey: LivGBGI project

Webinars will share best-practice and facilitate knowledge exchange between practitioners, researchers, policymakers, businesses, environmental groups, charities and individuals interested in implementation of green-blue-grey infrastructure for making our vulnerable living spaces more healthy, sustainable and resilient.

Shelly Dewhurst

Biography:
Shelly
is the Green Infrastructure Programme Manager – Avon Corridor at Bath & North East Somerset Council. Along with the WaterSpace team, she works on a number of river-based improvement projects, including The Bath River Line - an urban regeneration project through Bath, WaterSpace Connected - a rural strategic green infrastructure project connecting to the neighbouring authorities, The Better Moorings Project, and water quality and flood resilience projects.


Dr Sisay Debele
Research Fellow, University of Surrey

Title of the talk: “LivGBGI Project” 

Biography:
Sisay
has a Phd in Statistical Hydrology, two MSc degrees in Hydrology and Quantitative Water Management and Metorology Science. His research focuses on the interplay of climate change, non-stationary frequency analysis, application of probability and statistical models to hydrological design problems, multi-risk assessment, sustainable development and NBS modelling with applications to the fields of water resource engineering, climate change adaptation, disaster risk reduction (such as floods, droughts and heatwaves).
