RECLAIM - Urban Greenspace and People Awardees

Each month we will be featuring two awardees from our recent Urban and Greenspace and People Call.

Dr Issy Bray, Associate Professor of Public Health (Epidemiology) at the University of West England was awarded funding of £40k to deliver a project as PI on ‘The role of GBGI and targeted interventions in levelling up across Bristol.’

Dr Issy Bray commented:
On behalf of the team at UWE, I would like to say thank you very much for this chance to further explore the value of secondary data sets in researching the relationship between the local environment and wellbeing. The Bristol Quality of Life survey is a rich data set for our local area. We are very excited about the opportunity to add value by linking this to other routine data on GBGI, and look forward to sharing our findings.”

Dr Alessio Russo, Senior Lecturer in Landscape Architecture and Academic Course Leader in MA Landscape Architecture at the University of Gloucestershire was awarded funding of £40k as PI to deliver a project on ‘Urban rewilding aesthetics & people’s needs into multifunctional blue and green infrastructure design’.

Dr Alessio Russo added:
I am grateful for the RECLAIM Network Plus funding, which will enable us to create a set of resources that will assist local authorities and other land managers in determining how, where, and what types of urban rewilding might benefit local communities in providing health and wellbeing through access to increased and higher quality green infrastructure”.

The RECLAIM Network Plus are funding an upcoming workshop organised by Trees Design & Action Group on the 24th April 2023.
