RECLAIM Network Plus hosts second Conference in London

Local Authorities panel session featuring Portsmouth City Council, Neath Port Talbot Council and Falkirk Council.

The On May 23rd, RECLAIM Network Plus hosted its second annual conference at the Barbican Centre in London. The event centred on sharing best practices in green and blue infrastructure and engaging communities in these initiatives.

Speakers from the Universities of Surrey, Bangor, and the West of England (UWE) presented the latest updates on their RECLAIM Network-funded projects. In addition, representatives from various charities and companies, including the Earthwatch Institute, Zero Carbon Guildford, the SuDS+ Project, Trees for Cities, and the Cloud Gardener, shared their strategies for community engagement.

One of the conference's highlights was a session featuring Neath Port Talbot, Falkirk, and Portsmouth City Councils. They showcased their green-blue infrastructure projects and discussed methods for community involvement. This session sparked a lively Q&A, with attendees keen to gain insights and advice.

 The day concluded with a captivating presentation by photographers who showcased their work on green-blue infrastructures in often overlooked urban areas. The event also featured the announcement of the winners of the GBI photography competition.

Throughout the conference, participants had the opportunity to interact with various companies and academic institutions via poster presentations displayed in the common areas. Attendees also enjoyed the stunning conservatory at the Barbican Centre, adding a touch of nature to the day's proceedings.
