  • Each unit consists of three sections:

    Section 1 - Background, Section 2 - Case Studies, Section 3 - Recommendations & Further Reading followed by quizzes

CPD Courses

  • UNIT 1 : Green Infrastructure for Air Pollution

    Unit 1 will provide:

    - an understanding of the physical and chemical processes affecting air pollution, and

    - the role of the various forms of Nature Based Solutions (NBS) in mitigating air pollution at micro (roadside) and macro (city) scales. 

  • UNIT 2 : Green Infrastructure for Urban Cooling

    Unit 2 will provide:

    - an understanding of the urban heating causes; and 

    - its mitigation using NBS (e.g green infrastructure, green roofs, tree planting).

  • Unit 3 : Green Infrastructure for Surface Water Management

    Unit 3 will provide an understanding of:

    - physical and chemical processes governing water quality and quantity in urban environments;

    - different sensing techniques; and

    - translating scientific data into risk assessments for decision-making. 

  • Unit 4 : Green Infrastructure for Noise Mitigation

    Unit 4 will provide:

    - an understanding of the different types and metrics of urban noise,

    - an appreciation of how NBS can mitigate noise to different receptors (people and 7 ecosystems). 

  • UNIT 5 : Green Infrastructure for Urban Biodiversity

    Unit 5 will provide an understanding of the biodiversity qualities of NBS and urban greenspaces, including above- and below-ground diversity. This will address relationships between ecological processes and other factors including substrates, locations, and habitat types. 

  • UNIT 6 : Green Infrastructure for Carbon Storage

    Unit 6 will provide understanding of carbon and greenhouse gas (GHG) budgets in terrestrial and aquatic systems, and knowledge of how to quantify carbon stocks and sequestration. 

  • UNIT 7 : Green Infrastructure for Mental Health and Wellbeing

    Unit 7 will introduce relationships between NBS and health outcomes, methods to measure individual health and quality of life, quantifying the benefits of NBS to improve public health
