Dr Danial Owen
Spatial Analyst, UKCEH

Opportunities and constraints of implementing the 3-30-300 rule”

Biography :      
Danial Owen is a Spatial Analyst at the UK Centre for Ecology and Hydrology (UKCEH), working with colleagues to research green and blue spaces and their associated ecosystem services in the context of urban areas. Prior to UKCEH, Danial completed his PhD at the University of Liverpool’s Geographic Data Science Lab, where he used mobile phone and sensor data analyse human mobility behaviours in cities.


Dr Kate Farley
Social Scientist, UKCEH

Title of the talk:
A Tale of 2 Cities: Health Equity & Regreening Cities
 

Biography:
Kate
is a social scientist and interdisciplinary researcher with a background in health science. Her research focuses on the interaction of humans and the environment, as it relates to health and well-being.  Her primary expertise is in theory-led implementation and process evaluation of complex interventions, qualitative methods and social survey design.  She works in multi-partner research programmes in which lived experience is a critical component.  Kate is interested in understanding the role of the urban environment in mitigating the impact of extreme heat, and how human behaviour interacts with green and blue spaces to reduce the impact of heat on health and wellbeing.
