Victoria Turner
Impact Coordinator, Trees for Cities
Title of the talk:
“Empowering School Students To Lead Green Change: A Case Study”
Biography:
Victoria works on the Impact Team at Trees for Cities, the only UK charity working at a national scale to improve lives by planting trees in cities. Trees for Cities' work involves getting stuck in with local communities to cultivate lasting change in their neighbourhoods – whether it’s revitalising forgotten spaces, creating healthier environments or getting people excited about growing, foraging, and eating healthy food.
For the past three years Victoria has been monitoring and evaluating the impact of Trees for Cities work - collecting and analysing data from thousands of attendees at community planting days and school workshops and interviewing pupils and teachers involved in school greening projects. Today Victoria will be discussing how Trees for Cities has been empowering students and connecting them to nature through their School Greening Programme.
