September 2022 Newsletter
Dear RECLAIM Network members,
Hope you are well! Below are updates over the past month.
‘Horizon Scanning Online Workshop’
Consider areas for future funding in Blue-Green Infrastructure, assess knowledge gaps and inform synthesis
*17th October 2022 13:30-16:30pm (BST)*
Meet our first Secondment candidate
Xizhen Huang is currently studying a PhD in Energy and Environmental Engineering at the University of Reading. The RECLAIM Network Plus will shortly be funding Xizhen to take up a 3-month secondment with the University of Surrey’s Global Centre for Clean Air Research (GCARE) in the areas of urban greening and heating.
Ahead of starting her secondment Xizhen commented
“The RECLAIM Plus Network shares similar interests with my PhD study and taking up the secondment offers fresh thinking and new approaches to my research about improving outdoor thermal comfort for coping heatwaves by a green infrastructure approach. There is also a grant to cover non-salary costs”
“This is an incredible opportunity for me to work with experts in this field. I could expand horizons and increase opportunities to establish key contacts with senior managers and leaders for supporting my career development and progression”.
*Funding Available* - Secondment Call
